The business activities of Rural Equities Limited are investment in and management of rural property.
Through its 100% wholly owned subsidiary, the New Zealand Rural Property Trust, it owns 22 farms spread throughout New Zealand.
Of the farms, nine are in the North Island and 13 are in the South Island. All are well located, high quality properties capable of a variety of uses with a high level of development and production. There is a balance of dairy, sheep and cattle, deer and arable farm properties.
Twelve of the farms are leased to individual farmers. The other ten are directly managed.
Seven of the directly managed farms are dairy farms and approximately 4,850 cows are milked in conjunction with 50/50 sharemilkers. There is one dairy support property in Canterbury. The remaining two directly managed properties (Waikoha and Puketotara) are sheep and beef farms situated in the Waikato.
